For contractors

For contractors: from material request to cost control.

Switch on the contractor modules and Datumly runs your sites too: material requests from site, stock per site, equipment and fuel, procurement and cost control — next to the projects, site diary, drawings, quality and running bills.

From site to cost sheet

One cement order, from request to cost control.

Follow a material request across a contractor's week — the site, the store, purchase, and the owner's cost sheet.

01

Site engineer · Bhaisepati site

The site asks — from a phone

Saturday's pour needs 200 bags of OPC cement. The site engineer raises a material request from her phone — items, quantity, needed-by date, a photo — and it goes to head office for approval in the inbox.

02

Store keeper · head office

The store sends what it has — and the ledger knows

Approved. The store has 120 bags, so it sends a part delivery with the challan and vehicle number. The site marks it received, two bags damaged. Stock moves line by line through the ledger, never goes negative, and anything under its minimum shows on Today.

03

Purchase officer

Three quotations side by side, one purchase order

For the other 80 bags, three suppliers quote. Datumly marks the lowest rate per item; the purchase order is approved in the inbox and numbered on approval. The supplier's bill, the payment and payables ageing follow.

Budget vs actual, before the year-end surprise

Cement used on site is costed at moving average and booked against the BOQ item. Materials are now at 104% of budget: the overrun alert went off at 100%, and the project shows under “Projects over budget”.

In Datumly: Cost control

Datumly project Cost tab for a sample contractor project: budget Rs 19,40,000, actual cost to date, materials over budget at 104%, and bars by cost head for materials, labour, equipment and fuel, subcontract and overheads.
